First root canal
Posted in Main, Personal Health on July 16th, 2009 by MarkusGlad that’s over with. The anesthetic is wearing off now, but the hydrocodone the dentist prescribed is keeping the pain down to a low roar. Chomped the old tongue good a time or two while numb and in the chair, so that’s gonna hurt, too. But the tongue heals quickly and the gaping hole in #31 is gone, along with the old filling and the rest of the top of the tooth. In its place is a temporary crown, with the (hopefully) permanent one coming in a couple of weeks.
It was costly, and insurance-free. Hopefully, in a few years it will be easier for more Americans to make rational choices about health care and coverage. There are plenty of reasons to dread a trip to the doctor or dentist; breaking the bank over a single procedure shouldn’t be one of them.
