Holy cow–I think I got some of my range back.
As I’ve been blathering on to certain of my friends, I’ve been writing quite a bit lately. None of it am I ready to publish, “publish” being a wide-open term these days.
I hope some of it will see the light of day at some point, but once the ball is rolling down the hill, that’s it, so I want to hold off until the timing seems right.
What I’d like to do, currently, is just start publishing serially, on this website, free as the air, hope someone clicks on a few ads, etc. There are, though, things like copyright, license (such as Creative Commons), etc. to consider, and currently I’m obsessed with story. Still, I want it to happen and I hope I can make it so in the not- too-far-distant future.
Who cares, really, right? Right. At least I can say I updated my blog. Goody for me, eh?
I’ve been running my mouth about the Tracey Ullman/Kirsty MacColl connection, and my buddy Glenn* found this on YouTube:
He was grumbling about the sound quality and especially the laughter walking over the song. So I checked Amazon. I didn’t expect this. I knew Amazon has been offering DRM-free MP3 downloads, bless them. But I didn’t have any idea I’d have this song two minutes later. It’s a mere 99 cents (US). What are you waiting for?
UPDATE: The MP3 (or CD track) is definitely worth getting. It’s digitally remastered, and comparatively stunning. There’s some great stuff at the end, too, that you don’t get from the YouTube video.
UPDATE #2: *That should have been “my buddy and one of the best guitarists in the world…and Canada, Glenn the Great”. Sorry for any confusion.
